“Personalized Medicine” (PM) is contrasting the concept of evidence-based medicine, because the focus is on the individual clinical phenotype and no longer based on case-control studies encompassing a large cohort of treated patients.

PM is mainly based and driven by the current genome discourse, having enormous implications on our society and the definition of a human being.

In my presentation I will show some examples from the laboratory and from clinical studies, but I will also discuss aspects of science communication, reproducibility in life science and visualization strategies to transport scientific information into the public.
